At Kidston Helm Ross Lawyers, we are committed to supporting organizations that foster inclusivity, diversity, and community growth. That’s why we were honored to assist the Vernon Pride Society with their official incorporation, ensuring their long-term presence and impact in the North Okanagan.

On June 16, 2023, members of Kidston Helm Ross presented the Certificate of Incorporation to the Vernon Pride Society’s board, marking a significant milestone in their journey.

What Incorporation Means for the Vernon Pride Society

Becoming an incorporated non-profit society under the BC Societies Act grants the Vernon Pride Society formal legal recognition, allowing them to:

  • Operate as a registered not-for-profit organization

  • Apply for grants and funding opportunities

  • Establish a structured governance model to support long-term initiatives

  • Provide sustainable programs and events for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Vernon

This step reinforces their commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for individuals of all backgrounds and identities in Vernon.

A Proud Partnership

At Kidston Helm Ross, we strongly believe in giving back to our community. That’s why we provided pro-bono legal services to facilitate the Pride Society’s incorporation—ensuring their organization is legally established without financial barriers.

“We are very happy to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Vernon,” said Jessica Murphy, Legal Assistant at Kidston Helm Ross.

The incorporation reflects the society’s commitment to lasting impact, ensuring that Vernon’s Pride movement continues for generations to come.

We commend the board members, volunteers, and supporters who made this milestone possible. Your dedication to creating a more inclusive Vernon is inspiring, and we are proud to be part of this journey.
